Midwest Warehouse & Distribution System Acquires ROACO Assets

Move enhances logistics provider’s warehousing and transportation capabilities

Woodridge, IL (April 1, 2007) – Midwest Warehouse & Distribution System, Inc., a world-class logistics provider, announced today that it has acquired ROACO LLC’s assets. The purchase of the assets of ROACO, a $15M Chicago distribution services firm, gives Midwest Warehouse expanded transportation capabilities and warehousing capacity.

The decision to merge with ROACO was an easy one, according to Midwest Warehouse President Ed Borkowski. “We’ve worked with ROACO for a number of years, referring opportunities to one another and collaborating when appropriate.”

According to ROACO’s President and CEO, John Rowan, the strong relationship and mutual respect between the two companies was a prime motivator for the merger. “We’ve always been friendly competitors, and I knew that Midwest Warehouse had very similar values, ethics and dedication to customer service that were the hallmarks of ROACO. Ed and John Borkowski are highly respected leaders in our industry. Among opportunities we considered, the merger with Midwest Warehouse was the best option for ROACO customers and employees.”

Rowan will join Midwest Warehouse as Vice President, Operations and Business Development, and nearly every ROACO employee will transition into the Midwest Warehouse organization. With the acquisition of ROACO’s assets, Midwest Warehouse now has over 4.8M square feet of space in 20 facilities nationwide.
